Most couples get engaged and then begin the search for a planner. But this love story unfolded a little differently. Months before the proposal, the bride made her expectations clear: if the groom planned to propose, he first had to sign a contract with our team. Her decisiveness and vision were refreshing, and it was an honor to be part of the journey from before the beginning.
With a proposal on the horizon and an inquisitive bride, we knew we had to get creative. While she was aware of the upcoming engagement, we still wanted to deliver a moment of awe. The challenge? The proposal was set to take place on a remote vacation with close friends—completely off the grid. The couple wanted to be fully present, with no outside distractions, which meant no real-time coordination for our team.
Determined to capture the magic without disrupting the moment, our lead planner walked into a team meeting one morning and confidently declared, "I figured it out!" The solution? A quick purchase from the Apple Store. With an AirTag discreetly sent to an out-of-state residence, the Matron of Honor and Best Man kept our engagement beacon hidden from the bride. This gave us the coordinates and timing we needed for our photographer to capture the once-in-a-lifetime moment flawlessly and undetected.
As if the engagement wasn't thrilling enough, the wedding itself was an adventure. Our sweet clients not only traveled for their planning trip but also brought their guests along for a truly destination-inspired celebration. Unlike anything we had designed before, their vision included funky and vibrant florals, hand-delivered invitations to Colombia and other countries due to unreliable postal services, textured linens, bold focal points, neon lighting, custom ceiling installations, and, of course, an unforgettable dessert experience—because why have cake when you can "Let Them Eat Pie?"
While every detail was meticulously planned, unexpected challenges arose. A month before the wedding, a local resort abruptly closed its doors, leaving 70 guests without accommodations. But with teamwork, we secured alternative reservations for every displaced guest. And if that wasn’t enough, the majority of the guest list resided outside the United States. Just days before the wedding, a hurricane threatened travel plans, making it nearly impossible for travelers on the East Coast to fly in. But with patience, prayers, and the kindness of airline employees, against all odds, every single guest made it in time for the rehearsal and wedding.
Before a single step was taken down the aisle, this wedding was already an achievement. And when the celebration began, the energy was electric. The night unfolded in a blur of dancing, laughter, and revelry—heels in hand, sport coats and ties cast aside, and a Veuve tower left in cheerful disarray.
From the first signed contract to the last dance, this event was a testament to love, resilience, and the magic that happens when passion meets planning. A night to remember, indeed.
